LG extends greetings on 11th International Yoga Day

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, highlighting the significance of this decadal celebration as a moment to reaffirm commitment to unity of mind and body, and to foster social harmony.

“Yoga is a priceless gift of India to the world. Let us all adopt this ancient practice for a healthier lifestyle and a healthier Jammu and Kashmir,” the LG said in his message. He underscored the importance of embracing yoga not only as a form of physical exercise but also as a holistic approach to well-being.

This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, aligns with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for global wellness.

Earlier in the day, Sinha joined large number of yoga enthusiasts in a public event to mark the International Day of Yoga. Participating in the Common Yoga Protocol session, he performed various yoga asanas and encouraged citizens to integrate yoga into their daily lives.

“In today’s fast-paced world, the importance of Yoga is immeasurable. It reduces stress and enhances the quality of life,” LG posted on his official X handle.

The International Day of Yoga, observed annually on June 21, continues to gain momentum worldwide, with increasing participation and recognition of its transformative benefits on health and well-being.
