PM Narendra Modi held a rally in Alipurduar, West Bengal, and had a speech combining political criticism and promises of development. This was his first visit to Bengal after the successful Operation Sindoor, and the BJP is preparing to challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) on issues of corruption, unemployment, and law & order.

While addressing the people, PM Modi said that West Bengal is facing five major crises a blamed on the ruling TMC govt.

“Violence is common, women are unsafe, youth are jobless, corruption is everywhere, and appeasement politics has ruined governance.

Modi said that TMC’s rule has led to lawlessness, a broken education system, and widespread frustration among the youth. The crowd cheered as he repeated the BJP’s promise to “bring real change” and end what he called the ‘cut-money culture’ of TMC.

Teacher Recruitment Scam in West Bengal

One of the biggest points in PM Modi’s speech was the WB teacher recruitment scam, which has seen thousands of appointments declared illegal due to corruption in the hiring process.

PM Modi accused the TMC of selling jobs and destroying the dreams of qualified candidates. He referred to the Supreme Court’s recent decision to cancel over 25,000 teaching and non-teaching appointments in the state as proof of how deeply rooted the corruption in the TMC ruling govt.

A Promise of Development: ₹1,010 Crore City Gas Project

With the political attacks, PM Modi also led the foundation stone for a ₹1,010 crore City Gas distribution project in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts. This project aims to provide piped natural gas to over 2.5 lakh households.

The PM said this is part of his vision to develop Bengal’s North Bengal region, which he claimed has been ignored since the Independence.
